The International Society of Nurses in Genetics (ISONG) is hosting its first regional meeting, Genomics for Nursing Research and Practice, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on May 1-2, 2019, at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing on the Oakland campus.

In keeping with the mission of ISONG to foster scientific discovery and professional growth in human genetics and genomics, the focus of this 1 ½ day regional meeting, co-sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, is to provide a forum for clinical and research nurses to increase their knowledge of genetics and genomics. Topics will include pharmacogenomics, symptom science, legal and ethical issues, targeted therapies, genetic literacy, and patient population specific talks.

Program and Brochure

Presentations by keynote and invited speakers have been selected to meet the following program objectives:

  1. To articulate genetic and genomic knowledge and its translation into nursing practice, research, and education
  2. To recognize bioethical issues surrounding genetics and its application in nursing practice.
  3. To apply the concepts gained through this conference to further integrate genetics and genomics in their own clinical specialty.

Thank you to our 2019 Regional Meeting Sponsors:
